Feefo's standard feedback collection method involves uploading sales data to the Feefo Hub, which then sends feedback request emails to customers. SmartLink is an alternative method that allows customers to leave feedback without businesses needing to share sales order information in advance. This article covers how SmartLink works, its key features, and how to get started.

SmartLink can be integrated with the Feedback Request Manager (FRM) by supplying the appropriate tag to connect to the relevant campaign form. FRM is not required to use SmartLink. Note that SmartLink has the following limitations:

  • Response rates cannot be tracked
  • Private campaigns are not supported
  • Product attributes cannot be used

 

What is Feefo SmartLink?

Feefo SmartLink is an alternative feedback collection method that lets customers submit feedback without receiving a standard Feefo feedback request email. Instead, the SmartLink is embedded directly in a form or email provided by the merchant. When a customer clicks the SmartLink, they are taken straight to the Feefo feedback form and can leave a review just as they would through any standard Feefo request.

SmartLink can inherit the Parent Search Code and any other fields used by a Product Catalogue, making them available on the Feedback Form for review integration and reporting.

 

Security and Information Collection

Feefo SmartLinks embed all the information needed to collect feedback directly into the URL. Each link includes a security hash that prevents unauthorised alteration or corruption of the embedded data from the point the merchant generates the link to the point the customer clicks it.

 

Monitoring and Reporting

Because SmartLink operates outside of Feefo's standard trackable campaign workflow, response rate monitoring via the Feefo Hub reporting suite is not available for SmartLink-generated feedback.

 

Generating Unique Links

Each SmartLink must be uniquely generated per order. The generation script is straightforward and compatible with all major scripting languages. When a customer purchases multiple items, the SmartLink automatically creates a separate order line for each item.
